Discussing Dynasties: An Afternoon with Bulls Legends

A candid look inside Chicago’s championship era

April 9, 2026

On April 9, Magellan welcomed approximately 125 staff, clients, partners and friends to the Hyatt Regency in Deerfield for a Lunch & Learn centered on the theme “Discussing Dynasties.”

Emceed by Magellan's Adam Shaw, the program was moderated by Joe O’Neil, Executive Director of Premium Tickets for the Chicago Bulls. O’Neil, who began his career with the team in 1979, oversaw ticket operations during the Bulls’ six championship seasons—years when the franchise became one of the most recognizable and in-demand in professional sports. Joining him were Bulls legends Horace Grant, Toni Kukoč, Will Perdue, Jud Buechler and Randy Brown, along with longtime equipment manager John Ligmanowski. Together, the group represented all six championship teams from the Bulls’ historic 1990s run, when the organization won two three-peats and helped elevate the NBA to a global stage.

The conversation blended reflection and humor, with players sharing memories from their time with the team and the realities behind sustained success—preparation, defined roles and trust. Randy Brown, a Chicago native, spoke about the moment he learned he had made the team, while O’Neil joked about the steady stream of ticket requests during those years—prompting Brown to respond, “I’ve got a big family.”

Following the program, players joined tables and smaller discussions and continued storytelling made lunch even more delicious. Also in attendance were members of the coaching staff and front office of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, adding a present-day Chicago basketball connection.

Events like this reflect Magellan’s ongoing investment in and commitment to our partnerships across professional sports. By creating opportunities for direct engagement with teams and athletes, Magellan continues to strengthen relationships with clients and partners while supporting organizations that play a meaningful role in the communities where we live and work.
